We are a family owned business that first started logistics in the port of Mombasa in 1932.
For 88 years, we’ve tackled the most daunting regional challenges and consistently delivered on our customers expectations. Our success comes from the closeness of our customer partnerships and our ability to mobilise and deliver in a constantly changing environment.

  • 1932

    Kenya General Agencies (KGA) was founded, initially handling imports of textiles and raw materials through the Port of Mombasa

  • 1969

    The Combined Warehouses Ltd was formed, operating the largest warehouse in East Africa at the time (500,000 sq ft of covered warehousing)

  • 1973

    KGA merges with Reynolds & Co. and WAFCO resulting in the formation of FFK, now a leading name in East and Central Africa logistics

  • 1985

    FFK enters the projects market with the handling, clearance and transport of construction material for Bujumbura and Kigali airports

  • 1987

    FFK were appointed regional agents for the UN World Food Programme, which was retained for 18 years continuously, providing essential food supplies during the 1991 Somali Civil War and the 1994 Rwandan Genocide

  • 1998

    FFK ventures into the mining sector by securing a contract for Geita Gold Mine and later spring boarding into being the main logistics service provider in 2011 to Kibali Gold Mine, the largest mine in East and Central Africa

  • 1999

    Our subsidiary Transeast Kenya was formed with an initial fleet of 30 prime movers and 30 trailers

  • 2000

    A further subsidiary Mainline Carriers was established to support the Tanzania market

  • 2001

    Handled first delivery of Oil & Gas equipment to Heritage Oil in Uganda, prompting expansion into Oil & Gas logistics

  • 2008

    Certified in International Cyanide Management Code for the Manufacture, Transport and use of Cyanide in the Production of Gold, and recertified in 2011, 2015, 2018 and 2021

  • 2011

    Received initial ISO 9001:2015 certification in 2011, with subsequent recertification in 2014, 2017 and 2020. We were appointed logistics agents for Tullow in Kenya further strengthening our position in the Oil & Gas sector

  • 2018

    Freight Forwarders Solutions (FFS) established in Tatu City to handle contract logistics, warehousing and distribution services
